“INNOVATIVE E PROJECT COMPETITION”

Held on May 15th, 2020 by DVM students of FV&AS, IUB and IVSA Pakistan

Introduction: International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA) is the largest
veterinary students’ association in the world. IVSA Pakistan is recognized as National
Chapter of IVSA Global. IVSA Pakistan has 12 local chapters in veterinary universities of
Pakistan. All chapters are running with great efforts and arranging many activities, events,
awareness sessions and many others. IVSA Pakistan. Bahawalpur is also a Local Chapter of
IVSA Pakistan. As lockdown is extended and institutes are still closed, it’s important to
motivate the veterinary students throughout this current period of uncertainty by keeping
them in touch with veterinary knowledge. In view of the prevailing Quarantine situation
veterinary students of “Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, The Islamia University
of Bahawalpur, stepped forward to arrange an online competition collaboration with IVSA
Pakistan.

Explanation: The event was named as “INNOVATIVE E PROJECT COMPETITION,
Vet Business in 500$ ” and it held online on 15th May, 2020. It was a great activity and
almost about 62 students from 17 countries participated in it and Online Certification has
been done to all winners, participants and organizers as well. This project competition was
intended to spark the entrepreneurial spirit among veterinary students and accelerate the
development of business innovation. Creative students gave ideas about new products,
tools, services, or technologies that will improve the veterinary field. In other word how
veterinarians can start their own business with low investment (70-80 thousand PKR)?
There were 74 projects from which 62 were short listed for evaluation. Our 4 respected
judges did evaluation independently and then final results were concluded.
